Google I/O 2025 Recap: The Gemini Era Is Here

Google just reported that they have increased x50 the number of  AI tokens processed from 9.7Bn to 480Bn per month in just a year.

They have started to productize all their technology and they are setting an accelerated pace of launching new products, an innovation very difficult to follow by competitors.

And that was just the beginning, you’ve seen me in classes sharing Google AI Studio, Live Streaming, Generating Images or Videos…… see below what they just launched:

  • Gemini 2.5: The Next-Gen AI Assistant We tried the preview version and overruns other AI in many areas, we were impressed by the coding and deep reasoning performance.
  • Gemini Live, a real-time assistant that integrates camera, voice, and web data to perform intelligent tasks
  • Google is rolling out “AI Mode” in Search for all U.S. users There’s also an upcoming feature that lets users interact with Google Search using their camera, essentially letting you “talk” to Google about what you’re seeing in real time.

New creative tools:

  • Image4: A new image generation model capable of producing detailed, high-quality visuals with custom text.
  • Veo3: Google’s latest video generation model, now able to create full HD videos over a minute long, complete with audio.
  • Flow: A tool for creating cinematic movies from just a text prompt, removing the need for actors or directors.

Android XR and Smart Glasses 

  • Developer Tools and AI Agents A cross-platform AI assistant that provides real-time contextual help, now on both Android and iOS.
  • A new initiative focused on building AI agents that can browse the web, perform searches, and even make purchases on behalf of users.

What do all those announcements mean for Google?

  •  Google is clearly aiming to set itself apart from competitors like OpenAI and Microsoft.
